How To Screen Share On Facetime IOs 15

Yes, Android and Windows users can access FaceTime screen sharing via a link and can participate through the browser. But Android and Windows users will only be able to see the screen and nothing else. If you want to unlock the full screen sharing functionality of FaceTime, you’ll need to upgrade to the Apple ecosystem, where you’ll use FaceTime on iPhone, iPad, or Mac.

  • Open FaceTime on iPhone or any other Apple device.
  • Click Create Link to generate a FaceTime meeting link.
  • Press the “i” button and choose Share Link.
  • After creating the share link, share it with your friends via email, WhatsApp, Skype, iMessage, etc. and initiate the FaceTime call.
  • You can also select New FaceTime and select the contact with whom you want to share your screen and start a FaceTime video call.
  • Click on the Share screen and the countdown will immediately start from 3, 2, 1.
  • Now open the app you want to share with your family and friends.

How to share screen in iOS 15?

Screen sharing is only through the Facetime app. The iPhone 13 does not have a screen mirroring feature. To do this, you will have to use a third-party application. The easiest way to do the same is through Facetime.

SharePlay with third-party applications

Some third-party applications are also compatible with SharePlay. Most are video streaming services like Disney+, HBO MAX, and Paramount+, but there are some unusual options, like the Apollo Reddit client and CARROT Weather. Developers are getting creative with the use of SharePlay. For example, SharePlay on Apollo allows users to browse Reddit together, and CARROT Weather allows participants to vote on the weather in each other’s cities. It’s silly, but these collaboration features could come in handy in the future.

However, there are important caveats. Specifically, everyone on the FaceTime call must have the app installed to participate in SharePlay. Otherwise, FaceTime commands provide a button that reveals the necessary app in the App Store. This would be a great use of App Clips, which allows you to quickly load part of an app without installing it, but I don’t know if the current SharePlay implementation supports App Clips.

Use FaceTime to share your screen on iPhone and iPad

Here’s how you can use FaceTime to share your screen on your iOS or iPadOS device. While I would prefer to have a full FaceTime web app, allowing anyone to use the video calling app without restrictions, I’m happy with Apple’s decision to turn FaceTime into a feature-rich video conferencing tool. As I said earlier, the official release of iOS 15 is still some way off, so Apple might make adjustments to FaceTime to make it more accessible for Android and Windows users.

So what do you have to say about the revamped FaceTime? Do you think it has the tools to be a favorite video conferencing app for business and personal use? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
