According to what has been reported by media such as Variety, Johnny Depp will be the protagonist of a new historical film based on the life of Louis XV of France, the king who ruled France for 59 years. The feature film will be directed by French actress and director Maïwenn -responsible for films such as Poliss and Mon Roi-, who will also appear on screen giving life to Jeanne du Barry, a countess who was the last lover of Louis XV.
Produced by the Parisian company Why Not Productions of Pascal Caucheteux and Grégoire Sorlat, the film will mark the return to cinema of the American actor since the biopic Minamata (2020) and his scandalous and publicized divorce with Amber Heard.
